Connecting all Bank of Commerce and Development branches under one network
Introduction
The Bank of Commerce and Development is one of the largest private banks in Libya. With multiple branches spread across the Libyan coastline within a variety of different cities. Offering their customers secure offline and online banking and a range of different services.
Case Study
The issue they face is finding a secure and stable internet service connection that they can use to connect all their branches together under one internet service provider. Without a dependable internet connection their online banking functionalities and swift services could be exposed to failure.
Being one of the most affordable and most prominent internet service providers in Libya, we were their first choice to take on this challenge. Our goal was to connect each individual branch to the main headquarters in Albirkah, Benghazi and provide a consistent, high speed internet connection across all their buildings.
The way we approached this was by first visiting each site individually and assessing the situation at hand so that a plan could be prepared. Once we had placed a plan it was time to put it into action. Our first course of action was to purchase any required equipment, we were lucky to have some of it already in our possession but there were some things that weren’t available locally. We had to make an overseas purchase and have it shipped to us. The next step was to go to each site individually and set up our equipment there, connecting all the branches to the main Albirkah headquarters where Link equipment was installed on the rooftop.
Our team of technicians was initially required to work without BCD work hours, which made it much more difficult for them to work and navigate freely around the building. The way this was overcome was by contacting the bank's management and requesting access to the facilities after hours so that work can be done more effectively and efficiently. The whole project took 6-8 months to complete. We left our client very satisfied with our high speed internet connectivity and real-time support, offering their employees a means of completing any work they have in a short amount of time.
